All pupils throughout our school participated in Anti-Bullying and Disability Awareness Week this week.
Every class spent time discussing the importance of accepting and respecting each other regardless of our differences. Each one of us is encouraged to be kind always.
Pupils from 2nd to 6th class were very lucky to receive talks from Suzanne, a Speech and Language Therapist, Wendy and Colette from the Bluestack Foundation and Sarah owner of Adapta Fashion, all of whom spoke of the challenges others face and what services and resources are available to help support everyone regardless of their abilities and disabilities. Our speakers educated our pupils and staff on how we can be more aware of others and about simple things we can do to help each other.
“We are all different but all equal”
All classes from Junior Infants to 6th class discussed the topic of bullying and what we can do to prevent it. Our Student Council developed our schools anti-bullying pledge which every pupil throughout our school agreed to adhere to.
Thank you to all our pupils, staff, parents and guest speakers who contributed to a very enjoyable and successful week.
